Since being elected to the Bloomfield Township Council in 2017, Mayor Jenny Mundell has been one of the most dedicated, hard working and effective public servants in the community.

Working closely with her Council colleagues and community members, she has delivered real progress on many of the most important issues facing Bloomfield, and as Mayor she will keep moving our community forward. 

  • Worked with Human Services to enhance programming for senior citizens, including the launch of regular senior programming at Oakeside Cultural Center

  • Invested in public safety with appropriate resources, better technology and improved tactics to keep our neighborhoods safe

  • Initiated the Bloomfield CARES Unit in collaboration with the Bloomfield Police Department and Department of Human Services, which imbeds a social worker within the police department to provide support for persons experiencing emotional distress.

  • Contributed to the smart growth development of Bloomfield Center, with new developments creating thousands of jobs and significant new annual tax revenue

  • Built Community Farmer’s Market, with attention to ensure access for all through SNAP and Bloomfield Farmers Market Vouchers 

  • Led Efforts to Reclaim Oakeside Cultural Center, which has now once again become a vibrant community asset with programming for all ages.

  • Has personally raised more than $70K+ in private funding for NTNN, the Bloomfield Public Library, and other local nonprofits

  • Staunch advocate for the Bloomfield Public Library, resulting in the Township's commitment to renovate the Children's Library by fall of 2025.

  • Launched Biennial Town-Wide Cleanup Days, the largest community engagement effort in Bloomfield’s history, with upwards of 600 residents participating at a given time

  • Led and Developed Community Conversations Addressing Issues of Social Justice and Equity  

  • Leads Women History Month Events, including a Menstrual Hygiene Product Drive which engages local businesses and residents in advocacy for the cause

  • Organized Town Flower Contest to Choose Bloomfield’s Official Town Flower, the Black-Eyed Susan

  • Changed Ordinance to Allow for Microbreweries, expanding opportunities for business development in the downtown

  • Helped Organize Rally for Peace with Temple Ner Tamid and continues to champion anti-hate and anti-racist efforts throughout town

  • Improved and created a transparent process for appointments to township boards and committees, appointing more than 70 members to the same by January 2025.

  • Created additional boards and committees to expand community engagement efforts.
