How do I register to vote?
To register in person, select your county, download the corresponding form, fill it out, print it out, and send it to your County Commissioner of Registration or Superintendent of Elections for your county. Find your commissioner or superintendent here.
To register to vote in New Jersey, you must be a United States citizen, at least 17 years old (must be 18 to vote), and a resident of the county for 30 days before the election. All you need is your date of birth and one of the following forms of identification:

A current and valid Driver’s License or non-driver Identification Card issued by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC)

A Social Security number
Confirm if you’re already registered to vote by entering your first and last name along with your date of birth.
Signing up to vote by mail is simple, just follow the instructions below:

Complete the Application and return it to the Essex County Clerk

Once you receive your ballot, fill it out carefully and follow the instructions provided. Ballots will start being sent out on April 20!

Return your completed ballot by mail, drop it in a Secure Ballot Drop Box located at Fire Station #3 (124 E. Passaic Ave) or deliver it to your County Board of Elections Office
